Minerva Perfumes was born from a season of uncertainty. After starting over with a two-month-old baby and little financial security, Mary Minerva Sodevi decided to turn an idea into something of her own—a fragrance brand bearing her name.
She immersed herself in learning about perfume production, formulation, fragrance materials, packaging, and the business of building a fragrance brand. Her determination led to the creation of Minerva Perfumes, a proudly Ghanaian fragrance brand based in Kasoa.
For Mary, fragrance is more than simply smelling good. It represents confidence, identity, presence, memory, and self-expression. She is deeply involved in the creative direction of Minerva, from developing scent concepts and profiles to shaping the overall brand experience.
Today, Minerva offers perfumes, perfume oils, body splashes, room sprays, and car fragrances, with a vision of becoming a respected African fragrance house known for creativity, quality, and innovation.
The name Minerva represents the woman Mary aspired to become—intentional, intelligent, confident, and powerful. These qualities inspire every fragrance the brand creates.
Her vision extends beyond selling perfume. She wants to challenge the perception that products made in Ghana are inferior and demonstrate that world-class luxury and quality can be created in Africa.
